Masoom was a film released in 1983, and directed by Shekhar Kapur (his first movie as a director). The movie was based on the novel Man, Woman, and Child, written by Erich Segal. The movie starred such great actors such as Naseeruddin Shah, Shabana Azmi, Tanuja, Supriya Pathak and Saeed Jaffrey, and introduced the child actors Jugal Hansraj and Urmila Matondkar. The movie is based on the theme of the wife having to deal with the child born due to the infidelity of her husband, and her emotions along with the impact to the marriage. The lyrics, dialogs, and screenplay was written by Gulzar, and music was by R D Burman.
